Situated around 15 miles due north of the city of Nottingham, Mansfield is a historical market town with a modern day population of a little over 100,000 inhabitants.
The town has a rich industrial heritage entrenched in the mining, textiles and brewing industries. The local population grew rapidly in the early twentieth century with the establishment of local coalmines, as Mansfield’s infrastructure grew accordingly to facilitate this growth in workers numbers. A few short years later, another blow to the town occurred when the Mansfield Brewery, once the UK’s largest independent brewery, was bought out and production was moved to other parts of the country.
Although there is no longer one prominent industry in Mansfield, modern times have dictated that the local economy is growing once again. Set up in 2010 Mansfield Business Improvement District (BID) continues to push for town centre regeneration and potential investment projects.

Due to the geographical positioning of the town of Mansfield, with its central England location, transport and logistics links are good. The town is only a short hop away from the M1 motorway, meaning that London and the South, the North of England and Scotland are all easily accessible by road.
